Research And Implementation Of Face Recognition Attendance Technology In Smart Classroom Management System

Attendance of Class is an important reference for teachers to evaluate students, which accounts about 30% to 50% for the proportion of the scores in the course. At present,because of the teaching management is using the traditional mode of manually managing.The teaching staff use the roll call and random sampling method to record the attendance of students. The traditional manual management methods not only spend a lot of time and manpower, but also has the characters of low efficiency, high error rate, bias, unable to avoid the scene such as being late, leaving early, substitute and truancy, also can not do the full time supervision of student attendance.To solve the above problems, the intelligent class management system combine the wireless network technology with face recognition technology, so that students can take the attendance checking by themselves, and alter the method of student attendance from"passive" to "active", complement the student's self image registration and server's periodic automatic image registration. Through the recognition of face image the identification of students can be matched. According to the identification results, we can get the class attendance, so as to achieve the automatic management of student attendance and comprehensive monitoring purposes.According to system functional requirements, this paper carries on the following research work:1. Having requirements analysis and outline design to the overall framework of the intelligent class management system, and in accordance with the function of different modules, detailed description of each module design and contact.2. Focuses on the attendance module design and implementation, using wireless network technology to record the students' attendance from the classroom in real time. On the face recognition technology can achieve identification of student's attendance image and record the student's self attendance. Through the periodic camera photographing and the server automatically attendance sign-in, combined with face detection and face recognition technology, the process monitoring of students' attendance can be achieved.Put forward a mechanism based on the identification results of attendance signature image,I proposed a mechanism which can compute the student class attendance score, realize automatic management of student attendance.3. In the process of face recognition system, I used the Adaboost algorithm to achieve face detection based on Haar features. The pretreatment of face samples were taken through gray normalization, geometry correction and size correction pretreatment. Face recognition algorithm was implemented based on LBP feature.In view of the above research work. I tested the check on class attendance module and the system in classroom. The testing results showed that the system can detect the scene of be late, leave early, absenteeism, substitute, and the attendance of students can be fully and automatically recorded. The system overall realization can achieve the expected results.
