Today's society is a society with rapid economic development.Under the big background of economic globalization,our country pays more and more attention to the cultivation function of education to people.Our country not only addresses education's cultivation of talents of Han nationality,but also pays attention to cultivation of talents of national minorities and formulates a series of preferential policies to promote the development of talents in areas of national minorities.With the support of national policies,there are more minority students studying in inland universities and colleges.Inland universities' minority students are a group of students needed special attention and care due to their unique cultural characteristics,psychological features and customs.They left their familiar national cultural environments and entered an environment dominated by cultures of Han nationality.While learning how to the live harmonious with other nationalities,they also face various cultural disparities.These disparities become more evident when they contact and communicate with students of Han nationality.Under the influence of these cultural differences,university minority students often show problems of acculturation.Paying attention to acculturation problems can help university minority students to better adapt campus environments,improve the quality of their learning;it can also promote the cultivation of talents of areas of national minorities as well as the leapfrog development of their economies.Study of influencing factors for acculturation stage helps to solve the aforementioned problems.This study chooses three representative universities which recruit national minorities' students in Xi'an:Shanxi Normal University,Xi'an Jiaotong University and Northwest University of Politics and Law.It conducts analysis targeting students of national minorities in these universities and studies the influencing factors on university minority students' acculturation stage using methods of combination of survey questionnaire and in-depth interviews as well as the combination of quantitative research and qualitative research.There are eight sections in this article:The first section is introduction,which mainly explains the background and significance of the topic chosen.The introduction provides brief discourse of the importance of influencing factors on university minority students' acculturation stage.Second section is overview of literatures;it reviews upon relevant studies of acculturation both domestically and abroad,and offers some comments on existing literatures.The third section is research process,it briefly explains the evidence of the questions raised and key issues need to be solved.In this section,we analyze the basic information of research targets,briefly introduce the methods we are taking and arrange the steps of our study.The fourth section is the analysis of current situation of university minority students' acculturation stage and its influencing factors.We introduce the current situation of national minority students from grade one to grade four in these three universities in Xi'an and analyze the factors which are influencing their acculturation stage.And the fifth section is research outcomes and analysis;we perform detailed analysis on the influencing factors on university minority students'acculturation stage from three dimensions and compare the differences shown in aspects including genders,grades and nationalities.The sixth section is discussion and analysis,we conduct discussion regarding the differences of genders,grades and nationalities shown in the influencing factors of university minority students'acculturation stage and analyses the influence factors in cultural adaptation stage shown in different gender,grade and ethnic groups.The seventh section is suggestions,we raise several suggestions regarding the features those students shown in acculturation stage.And finally,the last section is about the limitation of this study and our outlook.We analyze the limitation in this study and provide our outlook and expectations.Based on the results of study as well as discussion and analysis,conclusions of this study are summarized as follows:1.Through induction and arrangement of the influencing factors for university minority students' acculturation stage,we categorize these influencing factors into three dimensions,namely city environment dimension,education and teaching dimension as well as student dimension.2.Factors of city environment dimension have relatively little impacts on university minority students' acculturation stage.Factors of student dimension have relatively significant impacts while factors of education and teaching dimension have the most profound influences on university minority students' acculturation stage.3.Influencing factors of acculturation stage have fewer impacts to girls than to boys.That is to say,girls have better cultural adaptability than boys.4.Looking from the perspective of grades,lower grades students have high sensitivity to the influencing factors of acculturation stage while students of higher grades have are less sensitive to those influencing factors.5.Looking from the perspective of nationalities,students of the Hui nationality have the best adaptability overall,their sensitiveness towards the influencing factors of acculturation stage is the lowest.The Zhuang,Tibetan and Mongol nationalities have medium impacts from those influencing factors while the Uyghur and Kazak nationalities suffered with relatively large impacts from the influencing factors of the acculturation stage.
