Research On The Ideological And Political Education Of Independent College Under The Background Of New Media And Countermeasures

New media has been referred to as the “fifth media” and has seeped into every aspect of people’s daily lives,also exerting influence in the ideological and political education of higher institutions.As a new form of ideological and political education supporter,new media,on one hand,has played a positive role in the ideological and political education in independent colleges: it extends time and space,strengthens timeliness,brings forth new forms,enriches the content,improves the efficacy and makes promotion activities and setting examples more convenient.On the other hand,decentralization of new media has faltered the authority of the ideological and political education in higher institutions;variety of contents in new media has weakened the power the ideology to some extent;the multi-directional channels of information dissemination have influenced college students’ feedbacks;fragmented information in new media has also influenced college students’ ability to judge right from wrong.Under the current background of new media,independent colleges should make good use of new media,draw on its advantages and avoid its disadvantages in order to promote the ideological and political education.This thesis analyzes the main types and features of new media,points out the main problems in the ideological and political education in independent colleges based on research and investigation,and put forwards the corresponding measures from four aspects.According to the train of thought and logical level,this thesis is mainly divided into the following parts:Introduction mainly includes research background,significance of the study,literature review at home and abroad,research train of thought,methods and innovative points of this thesis.In Chapter One,based on the current research both at home and abroad,the author defines new media,analyzes its features and ideological and political education functions,and points out it is an innovative platform of current ideological and political education.This part lays the foundation for the following research.Chapter Two concerns the problems and reasons of ideological and political education in independent colleges under the background of new media.Through questionnaires,it generalizes the insufficient function of new media in ideological and political education in independent colleges,and analyzes its reasons,providing theoretical basis for measures to promote effectiveness of the usage of new media in ideological and political education in independent colleges.Chapter Three includes some specific strategies and suggestions.Under the background of new media and based on the mode of thinking and mind of ideological and political education in independent colleges,this thesis provides interdisciplinary dimensions of thinking in order to strengthen the positive influence and the political guiding function in new media,to promote the interaction between the subject and the object in the ideological and political education with the help of new media that has nolimitations in time and space,to extend and deepen the ideological and political education with the strong power of information dissemination of new media,and to cultivate college students’ media literacy.
