Postmodernism in the80’s of the20th century passes into our country and its complexideas and values has a significant influence on university students of our country. Whetherpositive or negative effect to the Ideological and Political Education of college students is achallenge. Facing the challenge, we actively explore the Ideological and Political Educationto meet the challenge of countermeasures, purpose is to guide college students to analyzesocial phenomenon by the correct values, and to improve the efficiency of the Ideological andPolitical Education, which has important theoretical and practical significance.This article except preface and epilogue outside, main points three parts:The first part of this paper is the overview of Postmodernism. First, elaborating on theconcept of post-modernism. About what is Postmodernism, there is no uniform theorists say,so this study can only be integrated several theories tell us about Postmodernism. Thendescribing the main representative of Postmodernism and its ideology: Foucault’sArchaeology of Knowledge and genealogy; Derrida’s structuralism; Leotard knowledgelegalization crisis. Second, explaining the main theories of Postmodernism claim: Againststructuralism, Poststructuralist advocated; against essentialism, advocated pluralism; againstthe whole doctrine, promote local and edge; against rationalism, irrationalism advocated. Itspurpose is to understand the general characteristics of Postmodernist.The second part discusses the Postmodernist influence on college students’ thinking andbehavior and the challenges of Ideological and Political Education. The first is a positiveimpact, helping to train students’ diverse thinking, innovation, cooperation. Followed by thenegative impact and weakened the students of the Marxist theory of religion; relieved thesense of social responsibility and civic-minded college students; impact on the values ofcollege students, ways of thinking and behavior. Whether positive or negative effect to theIdeological and Political Education of college students is a challenge. Last Ideological andPolitical Education should advance with the times, and construct new teaching goals,teaching and curriculum view, promote the growth of college students.The third part discusses how to deal with Postmodernism on the impact of Ideologicaland Political Education. Postmodernism negative impact on college students, the main reason is that there is no firm guiding ideology of Marxism, therefore, must determine a firmMarxist standard to guide the students to face Postmodernism. Complex Postmodernism wasnot only valuable ideas but also erroneous ideas, so students should be guided to thedialectical understanding of Postmodernism. College students under the influence ofPostmodernism ideas have changed. Ideological and Political Education needs to present thecharacteristics of university students’ ideology as the starting point, and then change thecourse view, teaching view, and rebuild a harmonious relationship between teachers andstudents. We need to construct the new education idea which is conducive to the healthygrowth of college students and to promote the development of society to face the challengesof Postmodernism.This paper summarizes the main theory of Postmodernism and emphatically explores theinfluence on the students and on the challenge of Ideological and Political Education.Construction of college students’ Ideological and Political Education new idea has importanttheory and practice meaning to adapt to the development of contemporary society.
