In this paper, the author tries to sort out the types of situational history teaching in middle schools.On the basis of investigation and experiments, the author tries to identify the problems with situational history teaching and analyse the reasons,,thus improving the situational setting in history teaching.The author integratedly applies experimental research, investigation, case analysis, documentary analysis, empirical research and comparative research, etc..The first part starts from the concept and types of situational history teaching and brings out the significance of situational setting. The second part identifies the problems and analyses the reasons.The third part discusses the function and concrete application of muti-media, teaching materials and simulation activities in situational setting of history teaching .In summary, situational history teaching is a teaching method indicating student-centered and teacher-leading roles.We may come to a conclusion that the method has a bright future in the field of education in our country, nurturing more talented people and helping realize the education goals in the 21st century.
