Chinese classics, with its hardiness and vitality, had evolved into a kind of cultural phenomenon after years of ups and downs. It has been blamed as the prime criminal for people's poverty and weakness in tough days. However, with the development and civilization of our country, Chinese classics returned to the public view and got much attention from the educational field as well as the primary and secondary schools.Facing up with the traditional culture education, we need to know its implement in elementary education stage which includes people's understanding of the traditional culture education, students' traditional culture learning situation, the implementation of traditional culture classes, and the faculty of the schools, etc. To have a comprehensive understanding of the traditional culture education in middle and primary schools of Xi'an, the author makes empirical investigations in many of these schools. After that, the author analyzes the investigation with educational theories, aiming at proposing improvement strategies of the traditional culture education in middle and primary schools of Xi'an. Besides, those strategies can also be references for traditional culture education in other schools around the whole country.According to the results of the investigation, traditional culture education, which is the important medium for the traditional culture inheritance, is of great significance for students' understanding of traditional Chinese culture and the improvement of their moral qualities. Educators from this field and the front-line teachers in Xi'an had made some achievements on this issue. However, there are still many problems in the middle and primary schools of Xi'an concerning traditional culture education. For example, lacking of clear awareness of making Chinese classics a curriculum, lacking of an impeccable organizing form, lacking of systematic teaching materials of Chinese classics, and the lacking of a mature evaluation system, etc. Despite that, the traditional culture education is wanting of formal teachers in middle and primary schools of Xi'an. Besides, there is a tendency of blindly following as a result of "traditional culture fever".To remedy those deficiencies mentioned above and promote the sustainable development of traditional culture education, solutions should be put forward from the angle of educational department, schools, and teachers. Policy guidance should be reinforced, financial support should be increased, and teacher training should be improved. The innovation of these solutions is that the traditional culture education will combine the territory advantage and traditional culture of Xi'an to make it full of local features. Thus, students in the middle and primary schools of Xi'an can truly feel Chinese classics personally and fall in love with it.
