As a special form of teaching material,foreign literature has been edited into Chinese textbooks for more than 90 years.The foreign literature selection has been a source of controversy since it was edited into Chinese textbooks,and it's still the focus of considerable controversy until now.People's Education Press,one of the most authoritative publishing agency in Chinese education fields,has published numbers of Chinese Text Books for Seniors since it was founded in 1950.PEP Chinese Text Books make an enormous contribution to the development of senior high school Chinese education because of its authority,representativeness and recognition.There are a lot of foreign literature in Chinese Text Book published by PEP,so how to choose foreign literature has aroused the attention of scholars.The choosing standards for foreign literature has changed a lot with the development and innovation of Chinese textbooks.How dose PEP choose the foreign literature for senior Chinese textbooks? What is the downside for their selection of foreign literature? How to improve the present situation?Selecting the senior high school Chinese textbooks published by PEP as the research object,this thesis mainly has four parts.The first part is a historical survey of selected foreign literature for PEP Chinese textbooks,focusing on analyzing the situation of selected foreign literature in the Chinese textbooks.The second part focuses on the analysis of the numbers,space-time,content and style of selected foreign literature,this part also puts forward the choosing basis of foreign literature for Chinese textbooks,finally,the author tries to find the problems of foreign literature selection after comparing the Chinese literature works and foreign literature works.In the third part,the author analyzes the problems of selected texts.The last part is conclusion,the author puts forward constructive suggestions on the selection of foreign literature for PEP Chinese Text Books.
