With the development of economy, the communication among countries is more and more frequent. Their cultures mutual integrate and develop. In order to meet the requirement of culture and education, in recent years, more and more foreign literary works was elected into the middle school language teaching books in China. Especially in the high school language teaching materials, it’s very necessary.For our country’s current education system, to a large extent, knowledge and life students have in high school affects the choice in their later lives, so knowledge students learn in high school has a huge influence.In this stage, based on studying our country’s literature works, learning foreign literature works is helpful for students to broaden their cultural literacy knowledge and help them to form better values and characters. Students in high school are in the stage of curiosity and want to explore new things, so that exotic culture and style in foreign literature can satisfy their curiosities and make them develop in a healthy way. Exotic feelings and humanities in foreign literature is also what we should learn and know about. Therefore, foreign literature works in teaching materials should focus on learning value and artistic value. This thesis investigated on this issue.Research scope of this paper is foreign literature compulsory Chinese text book of The People’s Publishing House. The author selected this as the research object has the following reasons: Firstly, Chinese text book of The People’s Publishing House is the most widely applied and the most influential version of text books in the high school language teaching material at present our country. Secondly, the author have used Chinese text book.Arguments of research include: foreign literature materials and its problems, foreign literature teaching situation and literature and the suggested solution, diversified teaching strategies. I hope this paper have the certain enlightenment and reference for the writers of high school teaching materials and certain alert for teaching workers. To improve student’s ability to understand foreign literary works and their interests about it, the most important part is to improve students’ learning ability and cultural accomplishment.
