As a critical component of Chinese teaching in primary schools,composition teaching attracts intense attention among teachers teaching senior grades in primary schools.Since the launch of new courses,we have made great progresses in the teaching of composition practice by the joint efforts from Chinese teachers and researches.However,as surveys reveal,the biggest problem is composition among all the Chinese modules in the current Chinese teaching of primary school students in senior years.In the composition module,students and teachers experience the problems of “hard to write” and “hard to teach”.In order to issue the problems what have mentioned above,on the basis of the researches on overseas and domestic composition teaching studies,the writer applies to multiple survey methods to identify the status of the teaching of composition in senior years' students in primary schools and find the problems and causes and try to come up with good ways to improve the composition teaching.This paper is divided in five parts.In part one,research background was introduced to identify the theoretical and practical values in studying the teaching of composition practice of senior years' students.Moreover,the investigation and analysis of practice teaching related literature lay a solid foundation for future studies.In part two,current practice teaching status is understood through interviews and a thorough understanding of senior year students composition practice proficiency is obtained through surveys and analysis of students' practice work.In part three,problems surfaced in surveys are summarized and problems in the teaching of teachers and in the study of students are identified,analyses are conducted on the reasons of the problems.In part four,the core of this study,strategies to improve the current composition practice teaching among senior years' students in primary schools are provided according to the problems mentioned in previous sections.In part five,the conclusion,the writer summarize the processes and the achievements of this research with concise language.
