In junior middle school,the use of mathematical symbols transition from the arithmetic field to the algebra field.It is crutial for junior school students to develop the consciousness of mathematical symbols.For this reason,junior middle school mathematics teachers should help students to construct the consciousness of mathematical symbols as one of the important teaching objectives.On the basis of domestic and foreign research achievements in consciousness of mathematical symbols,this dissertation compartmentalizes the research dimensions of the symbolic consciousness,prepares a test paper suitable for the symbolic consciousness of junior middle school students,takes some students of a junior middle school in Wafangdian city as the objects of the study,investigates and analyzes the cultivation of the symbolic consciousness of unior middle school students,reveals the main difficulties in forming the symbolic consciousness,and puts forward some suggestions to improve the teaching strategies.The survey results show that the junior middle school students do better in comprehending and expressing symbols than applying them.Students' difficulties can be categorized into three dimensions and seven aspects.To solve these problems,four cultivation strategies are proposed for the teaching of consciousness of mathematical symbols.Eventually,By combining the author's teaching experience with the requirements for symbol sense of Mathematics curriculum standard(2011),three teaching cases are developed based on the analysis of the interviews of teachers,their views of symbols,teaching resources and teaching methodology. |
