Abstract/Summary:
The world of mathematics is a symbolic world, symbolic is a process from concrete to abstract. At the beginning of the Grade Seven, a large number of mathematical symbols began to emerge, thus there appeared different degrees of difficulty in learning. As a carrier of the mathematical reasoning and mathematical thinking, the consciousness of mathematical symbols is very important to cultivate the students. Surveying the problems which existed in students’ consciousness and finding out the way how to solve the problem, is helpful to the development of students and teachers’ teaching activities.In the reading of vast amount of literature consciousness of symbols This study will be on the basis of connotation which has carried on the division of different dimensions, and detailed analysis of each dimension in the components, from the four dimensions of eight components to compiled the test papers, through the investigation and data analysis to understand the problems existing in the consciousness of students in building symbols, classifying, and the problems, and find out the reasons, explore the corresponding teaching and learning strategies:(1) payattention to the essence of symbol meaning;(2) train the accuracyand completeness of students’ sign language;(3) strengthen thetraining of the symbolic operation aspect;(4) active application ofmathematical symbols as a carrier of the reasoning and thinking.The teaching strategy is made into practice. According to thecontent of developing students’ consciousness of symbols, I havechosen three typical classes to design the teaching process in theseventh grade math (east China normal university version).Through the practice of test research, analysis andcomparison of the experimental class, the results show that for thesame class before and after the test, from the level of the totalscore of the students in two class statistics USES relevant samplesdouble sample mean test, we can see that after adopting teachingstrategies, we can see the sample mean score significantly higherthan the former test class, the standard deviation is less than theformer test class which is verified through the analysis of theinvestigation of the different question of the seven grade students’consciousness of symbols situation, the teaching strategy iseffective and scientific.
