First of all,Primary Science belongs to a comprehensive discipline,while Junior Chemistry belongs to a branch discipline.They differ greatly in course outlines,course objectives and learning emphasis.Besides,these two disciplines are carried out separately in two stages,using different teaching methods and learning methods,which exerts negative influence on the systematic and consistent study of students.Accordingly,studies on the connection between the Primary Science and Junior Chemistry in terms of teaching have great significance both for students and teachers.Therefore,this thesis takes the primary science and the junior chemistry courses in Dalian as examples to study the connection between them.It hopes that more efficient and effective teaching methods would be generalized to connect the two disciples,which would help to achieve goal of quality education further and deeper.We compare the two courses in their books,curriculum standards,and characteristics of their teaching methods by researching related literature,reading law texts and summing up the experience.After analyzing the dimension of the two courses,we find that they both care too much in science researching and the research activities,but Junior Chemistry pays more attention to the scientific methods of learning and makes the researching characters and methods more outstanding.From the analysis of the teaching methods of teachers and the way of students learning,we figure out Junior Chemistry likes using experimental teaching and stresses on scientific teaching methods,in order to let the students study by themselves,and work with other classmates when necessary.At last.Junior teachers always choose typical contents to make teaching examples.Teachers are faced with the challenge of how to carry out the Chemistry curriculum standard,how to meet the learning demand of the students with a foundation of Primary Science and how to make the connection of the two courses perfect.To solve these problems,Junior chemistry teachers need to improve their professional knowledge and teaching standard.According to the comparison of the two courses,we have some advice as follows:Firstly,chemistry teachers should know the knowledge base of their students before teaching,and they should use proper methods which meet the characters of students feeling.Based on the comparative study of the two different courses,this paper makes the following recommendations.1.As for chemistry teachers in middle school:First of all,chemistry teachers in middle school should be well aware of the students ’ level of basic knowledge of Chemistry before teaching.At the same time,they need to use the teaching methods which fit for the psychological characteristics of the students to help them with their learning strategies.Besides,the teachers and students should strengthen exchanging with each other and promote the emotional communication.2.As for Primary and Secondary schools:Schools can organize more teachers’ learning activities to increase the opportunity for teachers to communicate with each other and to let the teachers of the two courses know the situation of their students so as to make reasonable teaching preparations for the next period of students.
