| In today’s high-speed development of the social context, all countries attach great importance to the education and training of talents, improve the quality of the whole people has a more important practical significance. With the deepening of the reform of education and teaching in our country, we hope to see how the western countries carry out the curriculum reform in an open perspective. My school is cooperating with the British Columbia in Canada(hereinafter referred to as "BC"), the co- organized China-Canada class provides students with Chinese and Canadian high school education, giving me a close understanding of Canadian high school education on how to organize the mathematics teaching activities. Through a comparative study of Chinese and Canadian high school mathematics teachers in the classroom teaching practice, standing on a high platform to examine our teaching process and reflect on our teaching idea and teaching behavior, I hope to get some reference to our own education, and improve the quality of our teaching.In coordination with the Canadian teaching assistants, some certain classroom lectures have been observed. In this paper, the lectures are observed in the form of different kinds of classes such as the new grant, review, activity class, and so on. After classification and the overall comparison, the Canadian characteristic mathematics activity class has carried on the key introduction.The student’s questionnaire survey and the foreign teacher’s interview, let me obtain the first hand materials. Based on the teaching of Exponential Function, Chinese and Canadian different classroom teaching are compared specifically, including classroom teaching goal setting,teaching content, teaching methods, teaching process on how to deal with the textbook, problem situation, examples, exercises and other, students activities and teaching evaluation.Through comparison of teachers teaching of China and Canada, I think Canadian math teachers give the students more independent learning, perception of time and space, pay more attention to the cultivation of students’ innovation consciousness, mathematics application ability,practice ability and the team cooperation spirit. While the Chinese teachers had our own characteristics and advantages in the professional quality, the problem-solving skills and theteaching and researching by the method of group lessons preparation. To enlighten our front line teachers are mainly: More attention should be paid to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability, especially the ability of independent thinking and critical thinking training; Besides, the use of textbooks and the combination of curriculum standards should be stressed. We should pay more attention to contact the course standard and students’ reality, to teach the textbook with processing and secondary developing; In addition, teachers in China should further develop the role of evaluation and improve the cultivation of students’ autonomous learning ability and innovation ability. |
