Professional Female Adult Attachment And Its Relationship With Working Family Conflicts

This research mainly inspected professional women groups of adult attachment style, tofurther explore the relationship between adult attachment style and the conflict between workand family.The research objects were453professional women mainly came from cities inprovince of Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong and Liaoning and so on. The main research tools wereRelationship Questionnaire (RQ), Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory (ECR) andWorking Family Conflict scale.The main results of research were as follows:(1)We measured adult attachment type Use RQ and found the distribution of adultattachment style were as this, secure203(44.8%), dismissing88(19.4%), preoccupied of82(18.1%), fearful80(17.7%), similar as the baby attachment, the student groups in general, thebasic adult group attachment style.we also measured professional women anxiety dimension ofaverage which is3.83±0.92, avoid dimensions of average3.46±0.78, which is close to thedomestic research results. Compared with the foreign research results, there are significantdifferences in avoid dimension and no significant difference in anxiety dimension.The level ofCareer women attachmen t anxiety is higher than attachment avoid.(2)In the basic demographic factors, there are significant differences in education level,whether or not the only child,occupation, income proportion in anxiety and avoid dimensions;there are significant differences in age and the time of job in anxiety dimension; there aresignificant differences in birthplace and marital status in avoid dimensions.(3) Professional women perceive more work-family conflict than family-work conflict.(4)In the basic demographic factors, there are significant differences in the time of job,theeducation level, birthplace,whether or not the only child,occupation and income proportion.(5) Attachment style has a significant positive correlation with work-familyconflict.Thesafety attachment work and family conflict is lower than unsafety attachment of the conflictbetween work and family.The intensity of career women of different attachment style in conflictbetween work and family from high to low is preoccupied,fearful,dismissing,secure.(6)Attachment anxiety and attached avoid both has a significant positive correlation withwork-family conflict.(7)Adult attachment has certain predictable function to the work-family conflict.
