Along with the development of the Chinese society and education, science, and other aspectsof the rapid progress, the special children's education more and more attention bypeople andattention. Special education is aimed at children's physical and mental aspects are flawed ofchildren's education. Among them, according to the national sample survey result that, mentallydisabled children has a special most of the children, is a important groups. At present, most ofthe mentally disabled children are in school education in society-adaptation rehabilitation. Andmusic education for disabled children's education is an important part of music's special functionto mentally disabled children's body and mind development has an important role. In manydeveloped countries, mentally disabled children's music education has got their attention, but inour country for mentally disabled children the vulnerable groups, their music education did notget fully improve and attention, is at present our country education career is a weak link. In acertain extent, mentally disabled children than normal children need more music education,music can not only bring them happiness, but also has special education function and uniquetreatment function recovery. Therefore, in our country mentally disabled children's musiceducation should get extensive attention of the whole society and education workers to therecognition of the importance of it.Mentally disabled children in physiological and psychological aspects are flawed, and theirintelligence than normal level of children's low, emotional and intellectual development speedslow, mostly there exists different degree of the language, behavior and cognitive defects,interpersonal communication ability is poor, in daily life and study there are certain obstacles. Inmost of the study showed that the mentally disabled children to music has the special preferences,their music of the obvious response than any of the other education means more active, it makemore and more experts and education to understand to music education is a very feasible formentally disabled children communication and treatment, special education is one of theimportant ways. To mentally disabled children designedly, targeted music education, can buildtheir confidence, promote their emotions and governance development and so on variousfunctions, with education and treatment is the dual role. Therefore, the author thinks that, byexploring a planned way and characteristics of music teaching mode, and is worthy of study andpractice of the precious subject.This paper explores the mentally disabled children in music education. Through discussingthe music education to mentally disabled children of the importance and the mentally disabledchildren in music education curriculum, teaching materials and teaching methods of someproblems existing in, summed up about mentally disabled children music education of effectiveteaching method, in order to improve the current social and educators to mentally disabled children music education attention to China's mentally disabled children music education thedevelopment of the career do our bit. This paper is divided into three parts, the first part of musiceducation discussed to mentally disabled children of the importance and the mentally disabledchildren in music education curriculum, teaching materials and teaching methods of someproblems existing in. The second part is to solve these problems in the system the research,absorbs the domestic and foreign advanced teaching methods and ideas of the essence into one,summed up about mentally disabled children music education of effective teaching method. Thethird part is to mentally disabled children music education outlook.
