Mentally disabled children are lack of some behaviors and habits because of mental retardation,which makes it much more difficult for them to get used to social adaptation. One of the aim of the education of mentally disabled children is to build their social adaptation ability and serve the society successfully. Mentally disabled children rely on the repeated exercises of the process of stimulate-response and then construct the new relation and consolidate it. It has been approved that we can build the expected behaviors by strengthening exercises.Theory derives from practice. The author made a deep research on the systematical use of token in the school education of the moderate mentally disabled children,which based on the practices of token uses in the special education for more than10years with20moderate mentally disabled children in the school. The author thinks that the uses of token in the school education mainly include:Firstly, to build the expected behaviors and improve the efficiency of study; Secondly,to develop the buying education and build the exchanging sense.Thirdly,to practice the children to learn how to count and learn the number concept. The author also provides the specific program and training strategy and makes an investigation on the effect of application.It was shown that:(1) The token system is a very effective method to build the children’s social adaptation behaviors and can also improve the efficiency of study by token;(2) The application of token system in the moderate mentally disabled children school has already got beyond the use of token as means of correction.It have been the main method to build the sense of exchanging and learning to count.(3) By the use of token system exchanging has become the important content.The children can experienced more exercises of exchanging.(4) The children can learn how to count and strengthen the ability of learning the concept of number.(5)From the opinion of practice, the token system is not a single practice,but systematical design.Or it will make the children confused and can’t build the adaptation of life. If the token system can be used commonly,in the classes, in the spare time and in the life,all the educators are strict and agree with the use of the token system, it will benefit the education of children and strengthen the efficiency of it.The author expect to help improve the practices of token system in our school,and give some stimulation for the other schools on the use of token system in the education of moderate mentally disabled children. |
