In the western political thought history,the state concept is an important political field.Summarizing state concepts and exploring the cause of development play an important role in the development of political science.From the perspective of civil right and state power to explore the western state concept and its evolution.In the literature study method and based on the study of the literature we summarize the evolution of the western state concept, and“good and right and state: to explore the western state concept”.Throughout the western political science,state concepts generally presents ancient holistic state concept,from the ancient state concept to modern state concept and the modern state concept that the country is a tool.The ancient state concept refers to three historical periods,the period of ancient Greece and ancient Rome,and the middle ages.Represented by Plato and Aristotle,the ancient Greek polis-state concept is to pursue goodness and moral.Influenced by Greek culture,the ancient Rome also presents holism.Represented by Polibius and Cicero,the city-sate concept also strsses the importance of moral.The middle ages carries the mysterious colour Augustinus and Aquinas make an important contribution.Machiavelli and Bhutan’s state concept is the transition from holistic state concept to the tool theory of state concept.The tool theory of state concept is popular in modern times.The state is set up by a social contract and become a tool of that people safeguard the rights and interest.Hobbes’ s leviathan type state concept pioneeres the tool theory of state concept.Locke praises the individual rights,and thinks that the government’s power is limited.Rousseau thinks that the power is owing to the people,the government is just an organizaition that serves for the people.The instrument of state takes in everything in a glance.The western state concepts develop in this way is due to the changes of thestructure system of state rights,the changes of state legitimacy theory basis,the changes of state fundamental function. |
