Abstract/Summary:
There are many remains of traditional Chinese statues that have ex-tremely high artistic attainments.The statues show the characteristics which are closely related to the philosophical thoughts,ideologies and aesthetic tendencies of the dynasties.Although each dynasty aesthetic trend is different,the perfect syncretism and line aesthetic way of "har-mony between man and nature" is throughout from beginning to end,as time goes by,gradually forming a unique Chinese aesthetic idea.In this paper,firstly,take the cliff statues of the two Buddhist temples in South Song Dynasty in Sichuan province as an example.This paper ana-lyzes the statues of two Buddhist temples in terms of the historical re-mains,the overall layout,the approximate stages,the appearance and origin of the idea of "harmony between man and nature".Secondly,this paper mainly using methods of macroscopic and micro-cosmic perspectives in order to analyze the overall layout,construction handling and processing techniques of specific classic statues.Thirdly,put forward the generally problems of the standardization of traditional Chinese statues and the minimization characteristic of the statues in Song dynasty.In addition,this paper illustrates the phenome-non and reasons of formalization to detailed discussion.On the analysis above,the perfect syncretism and line aesthetic in tra-ditional Chinese statues are given at last.At the same time,describe the situation of binary oppositions of the Western modernism,postmodernism.Seek the new inspiration and nutrition from the aesthetic approach and aesthetic ideas of perfect syncretism,line aesthetic,and the idea of har-mony of man and nature.
