Research On The Narrative Strategy Of Space-based Suspense Movies

Limited space type suspense film is a kind of special in suspense films,namely the suspense film is in a fixed space,limited space within the film,make the best use of concise and refined the plot,to create a kind of suspense,deliberately deepen the conflict in a restricted environment,guide the audiences’ spirit is more concentrated,with a limited amount of space,form the suspense is more intense and intuitive.The research plan in this paper plans to analyze and discuss from four parts.The first part of the paper is the introduction.It describes and analyzes the research background,research purpose and research methods in detail.The second part of the paper is the analysis of related concepts,in this part,the concept and narrative features of suspense film with a confined space are analyzed.It respectively discusses from three aspects including the causal linear narrative structure,form of the confined space and psychological fear in advance.The third part expounds the narrative features of the suspense film with confined space.It respectively discusses and analyzes three aspects including the "metal-cage type" spatial modelling language,suspense setting of the suspense film with confined space and the audience’s psychological demands.The last part is the conclusion.It summarizes the research of the paper.Combining the short film of mine,The Dinner Party,and many other films of the same type,this paper makes argument analyses and concrete researches on the narrative strategy of space-restricted suspense films.
