On The Consciousness Of Creating A World In Shi Tao's Flower And Bird Paintings

Shi Tao is a Chinese painting master in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.Hisbird-and-flower paintings are often featured by traces of landscape paintings.For example,grand scenes are a usual occurrence in his flower-and-bird paintings,and eventhe "three kinds of farness",a common skill used in landscape paintings,was borrowed byhim to make his paintings more liberal and vigorous.By studying his flower-and-birdpaintings,landscape painting manifestation,artistic career experience and his contributionto the theory of Chinese painting,this paper makes an in-depth analysis on the underlyingreason that led Shi Tao to his unique style and expression of flower-and-bird paintings,aswell as his artistic ideas,etc.,and it also explores the future impact significance of hisflower-and-bird paintings.This paper is mainly discussed in the following aspects:First,Shi Tao's aesthetic theories of Chinese painting.Shi Tao put forward many theorieswith great influence on China paintings,such as "resorting to nature and exercises" and "apainting theory","painting with the times" and other important ideas,and most of histheories were developed from the perspective of landscape paintings.In this paper,ananalysis is carried out on the relationship between his unique style of flower-and-birdpaintings and his theories of Chinese painting by studying how he used the brush and inkin a specific way.Second,Shi Tao's ideology of Chinese painting.Shi Tao gained his fame by his landscapepaintings,which outnumber his flower-and-bird paintings,so his styles of the two kindsof painting are closely related.This paper starts from the specific comparison of hislandscape paintings and flower-and-bird paintings,and then it makes an analysis on hisunique aesthetic performance and ideology of painting from the perspectives of space,blank,angle,form and aura.Third,the enlightenment of Shi Tao's flower-and-bird paintings.As an important artist inChinese art history,Shi Tao had a connecting effect and made a great contribution to thelandscape and flower-and-bird paintings and the development of art theories in China.ShiTao's way of "I use my method" is innovatively reflected not only in his landscapepaintings,but also in his flower-and-bird paintings.His creative consciousness not onlyhas an important influence on the formation of his style,but also has a very important reference value in the contemporary era.This paper has discussed the significance of ShiTao's flower-and-bird paintings on today's painting circles based on the links between histheories and his flower-and-bird paintings as well as that between his landscape paintingsand his flower-and-bird paintings.
