Translation Problems And Coping Strategies Of English Long Sentences In English And Chinese

English long sentence is one of the difficulties in simultaneous interpretation.In the process of simultaneous interpretation,interpreters often encounter many English long sentences,which contain lots of information and varied sentence structures,and during which,while the spokesperson makes a speech,interpreters need to deliver the information to the audience at almost the same speed.English long sentences will undoubtedly increase the difficulty of interpreting.According to interpreting practice of“Obama’s State of the Union Address in 2016”,this thesis discusses the problems of long sentences encountered in the process of the simultaneous interpretation,such as the logical problem and non-fluid output.Through analysis,the thesis summarizes several interpreting strategies to solve these two problems.I hope these strategies can help interpreters better deal with English long sentences during simultaneous interpretation and improve the quality of interpretations.
