This translation task was selected from Assessing for Learning,the first chapter,which was edited by Maki.P.L.The contents in this chapter gives an overview of institutional and program-level assessments as a system and system of collective investigation processes,based on institutional and professional values and the principles of educational institution commitment.It also introduced the evaluation process in the following chapters.As an academic book in education,the linguistic features were shown as relatively plain and reflected in a narrative way.Most text sentence structures are long and complex sentences,including terms and the explanation of definitions.In the process of translation,translator was attempted to develop three translation methods to convey the original information in an accurate way,namely,educational terminology,translation of compound sentences and communicative translation strategy.The application of these methods helped the translator solve problems of in-equivalent between Chinese and English and then present the translation to target readers.
