Fang Yi's "Zuo Chuanyi Law" And "Historical Review" "Yifa" Research

Fang Bao is one of the founders of the largest prose school-"Tong Cheng School"in Qing Dynasty.His "Yi Fa theory"made great contribution to the development of "Tong Cheng schoool".Fang Bao's"Yi Fa theory" is from the study of historic prose and he admired "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji"especially which is the most adaptable to the"Yi Fa theory".Fang Bao has two commentary book named "Zuo Zhuan Yi Fa Ju Yaos"and "Shi Ji Ping Yu" which built the "Yi Fa theory".In addition,using the"Yi Fa theory"to comment "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji" promoted the propagation and accepting of the"Yi Fa theory" when the commentary activity was in prosperity.This essay tries to analyze "Zuo Zhuan Yi Fa Ju Yao" and "Shi Ji Ping Yu" to research the construction of the "Yi Fa theory" and interpretation of "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji" using the "Yi Fa theory".Addition to the introduction,my paper is divided into four chapters,mainly related to the following contents:The first chapter is Fang Bao and his "Yi Fa theory".This chapter will give a brief introduction of Fang Bao.Firstly,we will research Fang Bao's educational background,the study of ancient prose taught by his brother Fang Zhou and his teacher Wan Sitong,The inspiration of the "Yi Fa theory" from "Yan Li School" and the promotion of the "Yi Fa theory" in the scholar background when the commentary study was in prosperity.Secondly,this chapter will give a brief introduction the "Yi Fa theory".We will research the reason of the birth of the "Yi Fa theory"which because of the correction of "Ba Gu prose" and analyze the "Yi Fa theory" in two parts which are"prose with content"and "prose with structure".Finally,this chapter will give a brief introduction to the "Zuo Zhuan Yi Fa Ju Yao" and "Shi Ji Ping Yu" and explain the time and commentary pattern of these two books.These two books were written in the beginning of the Qing Dynasty when the emperor is Kang Xi.In addition to the commentary pattern,"Zuo Zhuan Yi Fa Ju Yao "chose six proses in "Zuo Zhuan "which commented in the prose or end of the prose,but "Shi Ji Ping Yu" chooses the pattern that gave a comprehensive comment to the proses.The second chapter will give a analysis of the "Zuo Zhuan Yi Fa Ju Yao".Firstly,we will research "prose with content"of this book.In this part,it will give us a explanation that the "prose with content" means a prose should have its own subject.And the writer should choose the material that adapts the expression of the subject.Secondly,we will research the "prose with structure"of this book.The writers not only try to narrate the main line of prose,but also the branch line.By the way,Fang Bao like using symmetrical narration to analyze prose,which because of the "Ba Gu prose".Finally,this chapter will explore the relationship between "prose with content" and 'prose with structure" and we will reveal the relationship that the content decides the structure,different content need different structure to expression.The third chapter will analyze the "Shi Ji Ping Yu".Firstly,we will give a explanation of the relationship of the "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji".It will divided into four parts:from narrating directly to narrating with commenting;from narrating euphemistically to inserting anecdotes to the prose;from symmetrically narrating to using "Hu Jian Fa"in the prose;from "Jun Zi saying" to "Tai Shigong saying".Next,we will give a analysis to the "prose with content" and the " "prose with sturucture"in "Shi Ji Ping Yu".The author of "Shi Ji"-Si Maqian narrated history using history personality to express his view and he always focused on the relationship between material that should be detailed narrated and the material that should be briefly narrated.Finally we will give a analysis to the "Ya Jie view" from Fang Bao,which focuses on the style of the writing.He thinks that a good prose not only should have the correct moral view,but also the unified writing style.And how to organize the material is also a important part in i "Ya Jie view".The forth chapter will analyze the influence of the "Yi Fa theory".Firstly,we will summarize the "Yi Fa theory"."Yi Fa theory"is from the study of ancient prose and this theory is in order to guide the writing of "Ba Gu prose".Secondly,we will discuss the contribution and influence about "Yi Fa theory" Liu Dakui developed "Yi Fa theory" and he put forward "Yi Li,Shu Juan,Jing Ji theory" and "Shen Qi,Yin Jie,Zi Ju theory".Yao Nai developed Fang Bao's and Liu Dakui's theory and put forward "Yi Li,Kao Zheng,Wen Zhang theory".In conclusion,Fang Bao's theory is a important theory that is not only a writing tutor to correct the shortcomings of "Ba Gu prose",but also make great contribution to"Tong Cheng School's as an important part in literature theory of this school.
