Domestic Research Report On Specialized English-Chinese Translation Materials (2003-2017)

Since the establishment of BTI(Bachelor of Translation and Interpreting)and MTI(Master of Translation and Interpreting),the training of translation talents has made unprecedented development.Although the translation textbook is an important carrier of teaching activities in translation,the research is not much,and the research results are mainly focused on the construction of translation disciplines and classroom teaching.As an important part of translation textbooks,the search of English-Chinese translation textbooks for specific purposes is relatively weak in foreign language teaching research,especially systematic research.The research object of this report is English-Chinese translation textbooks for specific purposes(2003-2017)published in China(excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan),and mainly focuses on business translation textbook,science and technology translation textbook,law translation textbook and tourism translation textbook.This paper classifies the collected English-Chinese translation textbooks for special purpose into four categories,analyzes the current situation of the compilation of these textbooks,and investigates the market demand for translation talents,combined with Zhang Meifang's and Tao Youlan's theory,to judge textbook design and explore its advantages and disadvantages.This research report has important academic value to the translation ability description,translation teaching and testing research,and also has important reference value to translation teachers,students and publishing agencies.At the university level,it will have wide application in the offering and selection of translation professional courses and all kinds of translation compulsory and elective courses.
