Li Keqiang Answered The Chinese And Foreign Reporters In 2017 And Asked The Chinese And English To Submit A Practical Interpretation Report

In this report,the simulated consecutive interpretation is based on the material of the Press Conference for the Fifth Session of the 12^thNational People's Congress Given by Li Keqiang.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory,the author describes the process of this simulated consecutive interpretation,and illustrates typical cases with related interpreting strategies,such as addition,omission,combination and division.The whole report consists of four chapters.The first chapter is task description.In this chapter,the author mainly introduces the background and interpreting task of the Press Conference for the Fifth Session of the 12^thNational People's Congress?NPC?giving by Li Keqiang.The second chapter is process description,including the pre-interpreting preparations,interpreting process and post-interpreting adjustments.The third chapter is the major part of the report,which deals with the theoretical framework and case analysis.In this part,Skopos Theory,as the theoretical basis,is introduced in three aspects such as the skopos rule,the coherence rule and the fidelity rule.According to the theory,some interpreting strategies are adopted and some typical cases are analyzed at lexical and syntactical levels respectively.The last chapter is conclusion,in which the author mainly summarizes the grains and deficiencies during this simulated consecutive interpretation.Finally,some suggestions are given about how to improve interpreting competence in future.
