I selected Part IV Chapter 19 Colour Language,Thought,And Culture in a collection of linguistic papers The Routledge Handbook of Language and Culture as my translating practice.Translation of such kind of text is good for the inter-exchange of culture and show some examples for the development of the Chinese cognitive linguistics.In the process of translation,the translator classified the problems encountered and explored the solutions to the problems,which can be used as reference for later generations to translate such texts.In the first place,the translator introduce the translating materials and general plan.Secondly,under the principle of skopos theory,semantic translation and communicative translation theory.The translator found that in the process of translation,according to the context,the vocabulary is handled more flexibly,and the processing of short sentences can also adjust the word order to make the translation more fluent.
