With the continuous development of postmodern theory,the influence scope from the original field of literature and art gradually expanded and extended to many more space,especially in movies.Sixties and seventies of the last century,French films have begun to include postmodernism elements,presents the complanate,trivial and fractured situated on the movie narrative.In the 1990 s,French director Luc Besson,American director David lynch,Quentin Tarantino and Danny Boyle who's from England and others become the representative of the postmodernism film.Postmodernism films began to use the abnormal plot structure,mixed collage of narrative and insinuative strategies in the film.At the same time,accompanied by American independent film as a kind of different art form from the mainstream Hollywood film spring up,a group of outstanding independent film directors began to enter people's vision.Because of the impact by the "new wave" or postmodernism,their film turn to be more diversified expression and start to break away from traditional narrative mode.They have strong author consciousness and not limited by the traditionalism.Their unique image style began to draw academic attention in the world.Richard Linklater as an independent filmmaker,the concept of time in his film present an extremely characteristic of postmodernism.It is not only embodies in explain the concept of time,but also in the narrative and time construction in the film.Time start as a kind of independent ideographic symbols,gradually deconstruction the effects of narrative and attempts to express new meanings.Richard Linklater's film has a very post-modern deconstruction of time.It is a creative way to express time concept which can not be ignored in contemporary film studies.This article selects his earlier film Slacker,classical works Before Sunrise,Before Sunset,Before Midnight and Boyhood which wins Golden Globe Awards as object,use the theory of narratology and Time-Image theory of Gilles Deleuze to analyze the time construction of his film.We discussed three kinds of time construction models which are Time and Movement,Time crystal reflection and Time Compression,and place them in the middle of the post-modern perspective to analysis the post-modern structuralism's influence of time construction even the alienation of time in the film.Finally,we discuss Richard Linklater's uniqueness of the time construction,try to explore his film embodied is based on "time is the foundation of the movie".Trying to find the diversified of time construction and analysis the time concept changes that influence by postmodern view of the real image and the film of Richard Linklater's special significance.
