In this paper,the 20th century American children's art education,the core figure Viktor Lowenfeld as the object of study,mainly from the perspective of psychology to study its artistic education.Lowenfeld art education thought in the Western "instrumental theory" on behalf of Rousseau and Dewey's education under the influence of the formation of a set of children's creativity and mental growth as the center of the art of education.Lowenfeld art education thought contains a lot of psychological foundation,by Freud's psychoanalysis,Piaget's cognitive development stage theory and behavioral psychology,experimental psychology and many other psychological School influence,and in its art teaching practice and art education treatment can be used.The main idea of this article is to present Lowenfeld's art education thought with a new psychological angle,and to realize the cross influence of art and psychology.
