With the accelerating globalization,the intercultural communication between countries and regions is strengthening.The main purpose of intercultural communication is to promote cultural integration.As an important form of cultural communication,the documentary has unique humanistic value.It has profound social significance for the country and local cultural development and meanwhile it gradually becomes a potential cultural industry in intercultural communication process.In the context of globalization,China shall shall reach out to the world and the world wants to know China.As an important window of intercultural communication,the documentary faces the restriction of politics,history,tradition,customs and other multi-perspective cultural differences.In order to reduce the cultural discount of the documentary in intercultural communication,we need to find the integrating point between “local” and “international”,fundamentally convert the creation concept of documentary,weaken the propaganda and education function of documentary,recall the regression of humanistic spirit of documentary,adhere to humanistic philosophy and embody humanistic care.With “grasp humanistic appeal and reflect humanistic care” as the innovation point of the documentary in intercultural communication,the main contents discusse the significance of humanistic appeal in the creation process of documentary,cards the humanistic appeal in documentary and grasps the "Chinese expression" of the documentary in intercultural communication with “universality” and “civilianization” as entry point.On the premise of humanistic appeal of the documentary,it summarizes the development strategy of Chinese documentary in cross-cultural communication from three aspects,innovative production concept,market change strategy and the basis of humanistic appeal.
