Cultural Display Of Ecological Agriculture

In recent years,there are a lot of small and medium farms around the first-tier and second-tier cities,such as Beijing,Shanghai and Guangzhou,which are "small and beautiful" and different from the "development" model.They take the promotion of the development of ecological agriculture as the foothold,connect to each other,continue the traditional methods of cultivation,pay attention to the issues of environment,food safety and consumption patterns of food,and try to improve the issue of the unbalanced development between urban and rural area based on the concept of local development.They want to overthrow the stereotyped images of the country of yesterday we have,and reconstruct the cultural symbol of the agriculture.They are producers,but they don’t want their farms just to be the tourist destinations,they also try to be the social actors.By the expression of non-mainstream and systemic construction,they give themselves new cultural values.As a practitioner of Community Art,this paper takes the new farmer Lao Jia in Chongming Island,Shanghai as the clue,analyzes the representation system of the three practice projects of Xiyuan Farm,Pu& Su Farm and Harvest Design where he worked and lived,which are linked with the sustainable way of life and production,food sovereignty and urban-rural mutual aid,Investigate their cultural presentations and discourse settings,for example,how they present and convey their ecological ethics,values and hidden social consciousness behind them,and try to further critically analyze how this cultural presentation is transformed into a way of branding.
