The poetry on theme of "intellectuals with underappreciated political capability"(Shibuyu poems)written by Tu Fu receives constant attentions. And scholars paid sufficient attentions to the contents including the complaint about oldness and low position, the loyalty to monarch as well as the concern for the country and the people. However, these views can not represent the complete feature of Tu Fu's Shibuyu poems. So this paper pays attention to the recognition and presentation of his self-worth in this type of poems. The main point is,Tu Fu has inherited and developed the traditional ways of self-presentation such as "self-display" and "self-alienation",and he also expanded new perspectives of self-inspect.The paper comprises three chapters of text.Chapter One discusses the poems about "high self-evaluation".Tu Fu inherited and developed the" self-display " tradition in Shibuyu poems when he demonstrates his political capability and virtue.Specifically speaking, when he shows off himself by narrating life story,he describes the ups and downs in his life rather than comparing the gentleman and villains.By this means,he gets rid of the simplex mode of self-display,which is also emotional and subjective. The personal narrative reflects stronger self-consciousness,and shows self-affirmation by more various and objective means. While when he shows off himself through describing the objects,he distinguishes the matter and me clearly and literally,so that he keeps away from the style of self-display;At the same time, the great images, descriptions and purports still show that he is a great building material with huge sense of responsibility, and also show his internal self-affirmation naturally.Chapter two discusses the poems about "self-alienation".When he chose to leave the official career,Tu Fu expresses resentful and alienated emotions as well as self-affirmation as a recluse.Firstly,Tu Fu gets rid of the frustration in political career by making declarations of leaving, which is popularly used in the early and prosperous Tang Dynasty. And after he gave up his official position,he enriched the means of declaration to show his satisfaction with reclusive lifestyle and his innermost resentment. Then,by using literary quotations selectively,Tu Fu discriminates that he is different from the voluntary recluses in the aspect of failure experience,he implied the resentment of those in power and the desire to avoid misfortune, and the determination to stay away from officialdom permanently. Finally,Tu Fu eases the contradiction between the deeper aspiration of being used by a great emperor and the helpless choice of leaving official circles.By this way,he expresses both self-esteem and frustrated feelings.Chapter three discusses the expanded perspectives of Self-inspect in Tu Fu's Shibuyu poems.Besides the "high self-evaluation" and "self-alienation",Tu fu also observes himself from super utilitarian perspective, without leaving the real life.Specifically speaking, firstly,he uses self-mockery to present his lazy and clumsy personality, which implies self-affirmation in fact.In this way,he expresses more profound sarcasm to society, shows his leisured manner, rational self-understanding and personal accountability of his fate;Secondly,he cracks jokes about the awkward situations by exposing embarrassed image and seeking joy amid sorrow. Thus,he looks down upon the circumstances and shows pessimistic mentality. Finally,he describes the small self in Suffering, but the universal viewpoint, esthetical image and persevering willpower make up grand and free style. He shows his acknowledge about the relationship between the limitation of individual and the oppression of fate. His freedom spirit bursts out from the obstruction, and surpasses the frustration in the end.
