With the development of science and technology and the development of society,mass culture has become an important part of people’s daily life.In the face of all kinds of popular culture products,it is very important to know the mass culture and to choose the mass culture products.It is necessary for us to return to the popular culture theory of Frankfurt school to find the way out of Chinese popular culture.Any philosophy is the essence of the spirit of the times,to fully study the premise of a theory must first understand the background of the theory of the times.Based on this,the first half of the second chapter mainly discusses the historical starting point of the Frankfurt school mass culture critical theory,including the background and theoretical sources.Highly authoritarian fascist totalitarian society and the German goods under the disguise of American society,the Frankfurt school theorists felt the mass culture as the ruling class ideology tool,the criticism of popular culture alienation is the needs of the times.At the same time,the theory of Frankfurt school is formed on the basis of criticizing and inheriting the previous theories.In my opinion,there are five main sources of Frankfurt school theory,the article also focuses on the analysis of the Frankfurt School of their critical inheritance.The second chapter mainly discusses the historical logic of the critical theory of mass culture in Frankfurt school,which is also the innovation of this paper.With the help of the Frankfurt School of five different stages of development,discusses the five representative point of view,attempts to analyze the historical development of the school to find the philosophical logic of Frankfurt school critical theory of mass culture,and hope to provide theoretical support for the third chapter writing.Marx once said that philosophers are just trying to explain the world,but the problem is to change the world.Therefore,the third chapter mainly discusses the Enlightenment of Frankfurt school’s mass culture critical theory to the construction of contemporary Chinese culture.The development of the Frankfurt school critical theory of mass culture and the contemporary China mass culture phase,analyzes the current development of reason,the rise of China’s contemporary mass culture and the existing problems,and elaborates the significance of the Frankfurt school critical theory of mass culture and mass cultural construction of China.The author believes that in the complicated environment of mass culture,intellectuals should strive to undertake the historic mission,to provide guidance for the construction of popular culture,contemporaryintellectuals China duty a duty.Although the critical theory of mass culture of Frankfurt school has been questioned and criticized because of its elite cultural position and one-sided pessimistic view of culture,it can not erase its theoretical value.The historical logic and critical spirit of the critical theory of mass culture in Frankfurt school is still of great significance to the research and construction of socialist culture in china.
