With the development of the developed industrial society, people’s living environment andliving styles have changed greatly. More Marx nationalists centralized critical political andeconomic aspects of capitalism. In twentieth Century30-40, the criticism of Frankfurt Schooldirected against the cultural field and the critical theory of culture industry. The Frankfurt schoolearly researchers found that In the industrial society under the action of machine production,people began to enjoy even worship the mechanization and the commercial life. At effect of theindustrialized production,cultural products deeply hidden the desire of bourgeois to control theideology of the ruling class. After Frankfurt school scholars practicted the critical theory ofculture industry, there are many other scholars to question some of its, but whether in terms ofsocial criticism field or in the field of Cultural Studies, Cultural criticism theory start a newworld. In the critical theory of culture industry, the researchers highlight the special role of mediafor culture heritage, and it is a good reference for our country. Because of China’s mediadevelopment is not mature, especially in the socialist market economy, media in two aspects ofeconomic benefits and social benefits, the choice will always have problems, this has a directimpact on the cultural communication and understanding. This article is analyzing the criticaltheory of culture industry, combining theory of cultural criticism with Chinese media reality, andin order to resolve issues of China’s media development.With the help of culture industry analysis, Frankfurt school early researchers elaborated thedefinition of Enlightenment rationality. The Frankfurt school early researchers take the"Enlightenment" as the starting point of the thought of critical theory of culture industry. Theyalso paved the way for the next critical theory content. The second part of the article, discussesthe Frankfurt school critical theory of culture industry system content. The criticism of cultureproducts is Mainly concentrated in the aspect of commodity、copy and single dimensional.Especially the critique of instrumental rationality by the conversion of the enlightenment reasonis fully demonstrated the spirit value of the importance of early Frankfurt school’s advocate. Inaddition, the limitation of the theory is also mentioned in this section. The core of this paper isthe third part. This part firstly summarizes the critical theory of culture industry in the process ofcommunication in our country and the status quo of China’s media. And based on the first twoparts, we can analysis the significance of critical theory for China’s media.In the critical theory of culture industry shining the early Frankfurt school scholarshumanistic thoughts, they inherited the social critique theory of Marx, open up new perspectiveof social criticism. The Frankfurt researchers play an important role in the field of culturalstudies, literary aesthetics theory and the mass media theory. In a word, critical theory of cultureindustry is the Frankfurt school through the study of culture and media culture, reveals that in the leading role of the instrumental rationality, the bourgeois pusher culture just brought the ideologydomination. They are devote themselves to realizing truly "Enlightenment". Although theultimate goal of bourgeois criticism and China reality does not match, the analysis of thedisadvantages arising from cultural industry and the development process of Western society isstill have reference value. It has great significance to perfect China media development andcultural theory. It will help us to enhance our ability to analyze and solve problems and to realizethe balanced development of social benefits and economic benefits.
