"Chinese Characteristics Words" In The "Listening To The Story Of Educated Youth, Approaching Chinese Culture" In The Practice Of Interpreting And Interpreting

As a postgraduate student of Master of Translation and Interpreting,I took part in series of Chinese-culture-exchange activities named “Beyond the Bund” in 2016 hosted by Shanghai Yaolu culture limited company.With the increasingly constant development of China's economy and opening up strategy,more and more mutil-national companies enter into China's market,accompanying with more foreigners in China.In order to provide more opportunities and occasions for foreigners to understand China's culture,Shanghai Yaolu culture limited company has organized series of 1950s-1970 s culture-exchange activities,which have been shared by Shanghai local elders who experienced Great Culture Revolution by themselves.As an interpreter,I participated in this kind of consecutive interpreting activity.Based on the real-time recording of my interpretation and conversation with foreign audiences,it is found that accurate and appropriate interpretation of words with China's characteristics plays a vital role in delivering the historical background of that time,situations reappearing and the knowledge of real history for foreigners.Therefore,what mainly involves in the thesis is the problem,analysis and resolution of words with China's characteristics that appear in consecutive interpreting activity.The interpreting strategy mainly includes literal translation with explanation,liberal translation,transliteration.It is expected to provide reference and basis for interpreters participating in kinds of culture-exchange activities in the future.
