Research On The Spatial Effect Of Cultural Industry In Xi'an Based On Plastic Area Unit

The spatial structure, process and mechanism of geographical phenomenon are scale-dependent. MAUP is one of the leading causes that makes the analysis results uncertainty, which includes scale effects and zoning effects. This paper explores the scale effects and zoning effects of the cultural industry in Xi’an. Firstly, the space of cultural industry was divided into 60 kinds of grid; Secondly, Gini index and Global Moran’s I index were used to depict the scale-agglomeration effects of Xi’an cultural industry; Finally, statistical index of structure pattern and axis profile analysis were applied to analyze the landscape scale effects of cultural industry in Xi’an. Three zoning ways and two directions were used to explore the zoning effects of cultural industry in Xi’an, the methods were same as the scale effects. The conclusions are as fellows;The scale effect of cultural industry; (1) The cultural industry is highly centralized in Xi’an in different scales, but the degree of concentration will be diluted when the scale increases. While there is a scale "threshold", when the scale is lager than the "threshold", the dilution effects recede. (2) The degree of agglomeration changes largely when the scale changes, it occurs a "peak-scale", below the scale, the agglomeration degree increase rapidly when the scale enlarge, above the scale, it falls volatility when the scale enlarges. (3) Despite of the changing trends are different, changing phase of the concentration and agglomeration are consistent, the "peak" and "threshold " scales are nearly the same. (4) Spatial structure differs from point (polar nucleus) to axis band to black mass when the scales vary from micro to macro, the structure pattern reflects the location with the micro scale, while macro scale reflects the layer distribution of cultural industry in Xi’an. (5) The scale effect of cultural industry in Xi’an is caused by space reconstruction of adjacent cultural industry when the scale of statistic unit changes, which results from three aspects:isolated high density units will be diluted into low density units when the scale changes; some low density units can become high density units when the scale enlarge; the adjacent high density will be diluted and agglomerated into new units.The zoning effect of cultural industry:(1)The degree of concentration of cultural industry by vertical zoning is higher than that of lateral zoning, while the degree of concentration by the lateral zoning is more sensitive with the scale changing. The degree of agglomeration of cultural industry by lateral zoning is higher than that of vertical zoning, while the degree of agglomeration by the vertical zoning is more sensitive with the scale changing.(2)The zoning effects of cultural industry is more complex. The discrepancy varies from different type of cultural industry density, lower density and higher density units are more sensitive to the zoning ways and directions. And the discrepancy occurs in many aspects,such as spatial form, location, extent,number of patch and so on.(3)The zoning effects of cultural industry are influenced by the zoning ways and scale. On the same scale, the discrepancy increase with the length-width ratio increasing. When the scales range from micro to macro, the difference cased by the zoning ways and directions magnify.
