Abstract/Summary:
Yan Lianke starts to writing in the 1980 s.The medium-length novel of “Days” and the full-length novel of “Sunlighe Fleeting” published in the middle and later years of 1990 s,and caused the extensive concern of literary world.Then,“Hard as Water”,”Having Fun”,”Dream of Ding Village”and “Elegance” have been published.It displays than Yan Lianke have the unique narrative ability and absurd imagination.Yan Lianke has become a contemporary literary world can not be ignored.Yan Lianke was influenced by the Chinese traditional culture,and actively absorbed the experience of foreign literature,particularly,there is a unique understanding of Existentialism.And All of these influenced his writing.He has always been concerned about the existence of human beings,survival,suffering and human nature are the spirit of the core of the novel,and causing readers to ponder.The chapters of the thesis are as follows:Introduction: To introduce the Yan Lianke’s basic situation of his life and works,leads to Yan Lianke’s "Palou series" novels,and discuss its value.The first chapter: The life consciousness in Yan Lianke’s novels and its causes.There are two main reasons,one is the influence of the culture of Central Plains region color;second is the rural life impression and the survival experience of poverty and hunger in dealing with the problem of history and reality.The second chapter: Appear again of sadly living pictures.Farmers of Palou mountain live in extreme natural environment,but they need to bear sick of torture too.And they must face the alienation of human nature,and the grass-roots power squeezing of the social reality.The third chapter: The have a helpless choice in the face of suffering.In the face of suffering some people choose to escape from the land.However,they without happiness when they into the city,so they want to return again.In the face of suffering some people scared to death,some people choose to fight,and some people chose to redeem.The forth chapter: The philosophical thinking about the survival predicament.Yan Lianke attempt to find the true state of rural life,try to explore the original meaning of life and tries to reconstruct the ideal of life through the thinking of existence,suffering and humanity.Conclusion: Yan Lianke is a writer with a sense of humanism and social responsibility.Suffering is the background of Palou novel,and we could thinking about the suffering of life through the suffering of the picture depicted in contrast,but,suffering under the pen of Yan Lianke seems to have some too concentrated sometimes.
