The two words “dou” and “quan” are used rather frequently and it is easy to make mistakes for foreign students. The two words are supposed to have lots of m eanings,and also similar meanings and functions. We do have lots of synonym ous words, so we pick synonymous adverbs “dou” and “quan” as study objects.Through studying on the two words we would like to provide reference for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This paper is going to involve a num ber of Chinese corpus and inter language corpus, studying on learning condition of foreign students, and their wrong types. Furthermore the root of errors are trying to be concluded and we fi nally put up with s uggestions for related teaching.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part is the introduction. In the beginning it will be e xplained, why the topic has been chosen. The m ain part deals with the research summary based on ontological study and the teaching process of “dou” and “quan” will be discussed. At the sam e time research methods will be introdu ced and fini shed by an illustration o f sources of the publication.The second part is the main body, which is the main part of the thesis, including four chapters.By including other, the firs t chapter preceding studies regarding the adverbs “dou” and “quan”, their functions are compared in the first part to find out their differences.In the second part the focus is on the an alysis of synonymous adverbs errors. The occurring errors are divided into four types: miss, wrongly use, wrongly add, wrong order. Combined with corpora and focus on wrongly used error “dou” and “quan”.During third part the factor of the errors is analyzed. During the an alysis in th e previous chapter on the learning progress f our reasons have been found. Adverbs have many similar characteristics, unreasonable syllabus, teachers not explaining clearly, and inappropriate learning methods and communication strategy.In the fourth part sugg estions are put up with for editing textbook, teaching an d foreign students study based on the error sources.The third part is the conclusion, conclude the paper context.
