A New Conception Of The Evaluation Index System For Chinese International Education Masters

The evaluation of postgraduate education plays an essential role in guaranteeing the quality of postgraduate education. This kind of evaluation activity began to rise since the 1980 s in foreign countries and 1985 in China. At present, the education evaluation activity is governed by the government and a series of policies are enacted to promote the development of the activity in order to increase the quality of the postgraduate education. In 2014, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education formulated the “degree authorization conformity assessment approach”, which regulated the evaluation cycle on Ph.D.s and M.A.s to be once every six years. Chinese Master of International Education had its first intermediate inspection in 2009 and it will have a new round of evaluation in 2015. This article introduces the current situation of postgraduate evaluation from home and abroad as well as the domestic policies and principles of education evaluation. With the reflection on the 2009 intermediate inspection standards and the background and requirements of our contemporary Chinese international education, this paper also develops a new evaluation system and provides some suggestions for students' practice and teachers' cultivating students' subjectivity. Additionally, the author attempts to evaluate the development status of the Chinese International Master of Education in Qufu Normal University under the guidance of the new evaluation system, and tries to analyze the strength and shortcomings of the status and provide some possible reform suggestions. At last, the paper states the significance of the evaluation from the microscopic point of view and predicts the future trend of professional master evaluation from three perspectives, which are the key of the evaluation, the role of the government and the establishment of self-assessment system.
