Professor Li Xiaojuan's Experience In Treating Diabetes Complicated With Insomnia From The Perspective Of "Regulating Liver And Spleen, Relieving Mind"

Purpose: To explore the dialectical thought and characteristic application of the classical prescription in clinic of my teacher,who inherites the experience of Ma Zhi,"adjusting liver and spleen,peace of mind" for treatment of Insomnia,and developes it to apply to the treatment of insomniac who always suffer from Diabetes,this will pour the new ideas into Chinese medicine treatment of this disease.Material and method: By reviewing the datum during the study period of my teacher's following Professor Ma Zhi,and clinical study,the record of typical cases and system analysis during the period of learning from Professor Li and I summary all of them to generalize my teacher's characteristic treatment of insomniac who always suffers from Diabetes by traditional medicine.Results:1.Professor Li's understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of Diabetes mates with Insomnia: The short of Qi and Yin is the root of Diabetes,the dryness-heat and blood stasis is the outward manifestation of Diabetes.Insomnia can occur in any stage of development of Diabetes and a variety of factors may affect the mind dystrophy or mind disturbed.Liver and spleen are the source of the disease and the sick location is in the heart.2.Professor Li's treatment according to syndrome differentiation of Diabetes mates with Insomnia:(1)It's important to distinguish the true performance and false performance during the treatment process and emphasize the basics of curing Qi Yin.(2)Use “transfer liver and spleen,peace of mind” as the treatment of principels and guide the follow-up traditional Chinese medicine treatment.(3)According to the development of disease and clinical manifestations,divide the disease into the following 5 types:yin asthenia generating intrinsic heart,feel ill at ease;heart and kidney are not in contact with each other,mind dystrophy;heart and spleen deficiency,mind dystrophy;deficiency of both qi and yin,liver's fire affect the mind and make the heart uneasy;hot phlegm disturbs mind and make the heart uneasy.Seriously identify the types of syndrome and treat it.Conclusion: My teacher's traditional Chinese medicine treatment on the Diabetes mates with Insomnia,it's clinical efficacy is obviouse.My teacher's view of the disease has the value of learning and research.
