Objectives:The quality of education becomes more concerning since the popularization of higher education.There are many evaluation methods of education quality in society.However,only the evaluation which comes from the students'perspective can have both the theoretical and the practical significance.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)is the main major in Beijing University of Chinese Medicine(BUCM),the quality evaluation of TCM major is of great importance.BUCM joined "China College Student Survey,CCSS",a questionnaire research launched by Tsinghua University,which is used to gain the information of student engagement.Methods:Literature research,case analysis and questionnaire survey are used in this research to find the problem in TCM students' learning,this research investigates TCM students' learning conditions from two aspects,the external comparison and internal comparison.Results:In the level of comprehensive index,TCM students perform well in SCE(Supportive Campus Environment),but score low in EEE(Enriching Educational Experiences)and SFI(Student-Faculty Interaction).When compared with the whole medical norm,TCM students have higher score in LAC(Level of Academic Challenge),ACL(Active and Collaborative)and EEE(Enriching Educational Experiences),but have lower score in SCE(Supportive Campus Environment)and SFI(Student-Faculty Interaction).When different programs of TCM compared with each other,except the LAC level,five-year program have higher score than long year systems in other four aspects.Eight-year program have the lowest score in LAC,ACL and EEE.Nine-year program have the lowest score in SFI and SCE.Conclusion:Firstly,TCM major and the whole medical major have the similar learning condition.The TCM feature is prominent.Secondly,different programs of TCM major have their own strengths.Suggested to build the student-based theory of education,make every effort to promote the SFI level and emphasis on TCM feature in teaching.
