Objective Through the in-depth investigation of the nutritional status of rural compulsory education students in Hainan Province, analyze the specific factors affecting their nutrition and health status, find sufficient scientific basis, and put forward suggestions for improving the nutritional status of students in other areas of China. Methods Data of three “nutrition improvement plan” pilot counties in Hainan Province were collected, including the height, weight and vitamin A and vitamin D of compulsory education students in 18 schools in 3 pilot counties of Hainan Province from 2016 to 2017 and 2017-2018.In the research,SPSS18.0 statistical software is mainly used to analyze various data, and finally the relevant indicators are described by data results. The comparison between the height and weight of rural compulsory education students in poverty-stricken areas in Hainan Province and the national level is based on a single sample.t test, test level ? = 0.05.Results:(1)During the two years, the nutritional status of the students in the following year are improved compared with the previous year, and malnutrition and trace element deficiency were alleviated.(2)There are problems of malnutrition and overnutrition in the student population surveyed.Among them, the proportion of male students in malnutrition is higher than that of female students,so it is suggested that the male group is the key target of nutrition improvement.(3)During the one-year implementation of the nutrition improvement plan, growth retardation and weight loss have improved significantly. But the rate of overweight and obesity is increasing.(4)The levels of vitamin A and vitamin D in primary school students are lower than those in junior high school students, and the incidence of growth retardation and wasting is higher than that of junior high school students. The incidence of overweight and obesity is also higher than that of junior high school students, suggesting that primary school students are the key monitoring targets for nutrition improvement.(5)Students' knowledge of nutrition scores are low and cognitive levels are insufficient. And in the past two years, there has been no significant improvement.conclusion After implementing the "Nutrition Improvement Program for Rural Compulsory Education Students" in Qiongzhong County,Baisha County and Lingao County of Hainan Province, the malnutrition and moderate to severe wasting of students have improved, but the situation of overnutrition has begun to increase. The score of students' nutritional knowledge is not optimistic. There was no significant change in the anemia rate of students. The deficiency of vitamin A and vitamin D was alleviated.Overall, the implementation of the plan played a positive role.
