Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Fuyuan acupuncture on acute gastrointestinal injury in patients with sepsis. Methods:Clinical trials were conducted prospective, randomized, parallel controlled designs. All the observation cases were from April 2016 to May 2017 by both ICU of Beijing Hospital of TCM and Beijing Hospital of Youyi, which affiliated to Capital Medical University, who were treated with acute gastrointestinal injury in sepsis patients. They were randomly divided into basic treatment group and Fuyuan acupuncture group, the basic treatment group was given sepsis anti-infection and organ function support and other basic treatment, and the Fuyuan acupuncture group based on the basic treatment plus Fuyuan acupuncture treatment. The APACHE ? score,SOFA score,AGI grade, bowel sounds,intra-abdominal pressure, abdominal circumference,procalcitonin,C-reactive protein and mortality were observed before and after treatment. The results were analyzed by using SPSS13.0 statistical software, the significance level was set to P= 0.05.Result:1 General information and baseline analysisThere was no significant difference in gender, age, body weight and underlying disease between the two groups(P>0.05).The baseline data were comparable.2 General conditionsThere were no significant differences in APACHE II scores and SOFA scores between the two groups before and after treatment(APACHE II scores:F=0.289,P=0.594>0.05;SOFA scores:F=0.762,P=0.388>0.05).3 Gastrointestinal functions3.1 Acute gastrointestinal injury ratingThe differences of AGI scores between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).At the four points of observation time at 3 days,7 days,21 days and 28 days after treatment, the P values were 0.002,0.039,0.011 and 0.000,all were<0.05.3.2 Comparison of abdominal circumferenceThere was no significant difference between the two groups(F=0.485,P = 0.490>0.05).3.3 Comparison of intra-abdominal pressureThere was no significant difference between the two groups(F=0.674,P=0.417>0.05).3.4 Comparison of bowel sounds3.4.1 The number of bowel soundsThe difference of mean number of bowel sounds per group was statistically significant(F=9.513,P = 0.004<0.05).The difference of minimum number of bowel sounds per minute between the two groups was statistically significant(F=12.738,P = 0.001<0.05).The difference of maximum number of bowel sounds per minute between the two groups was statistically significant(F=9.057,P = 0.005<0.05).3.4.2The nature of bowel soundsThe changes of the nature of bowel sounds between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).At the time of 3 days,7 days,21 days and 28 days after treatment, the difference was significant, the P values were respectively 0.000,0.021,0.000 and 0.000,all were<0.05.4 Inflammations4.1ProcalcitoninThere was no significant difference between the two groups in the changes of procalcitonin(F=0.262,P=0.612>0.05).4.2 C-reactive proteinThere was no significant difference between the two groups in the changes of C-reactive protein(F=0.043,P = 0.837>0.05).Conclusion:(1)The method of Fuyuan acupuncture can significantly lower rating of acute gastrointestinal injury in sepsis patients, cure the acute gastrointestinal injury in patients with sepsis, and improve the role of gastrointestinal function.(2)The method of Fuyuan acupuncture can significantly improve the abnormal gastrointestinal motility of patients with acute gastrointestinal injury of sepsis, improve the number of bowel sounds per minute and the nature of bowel sounds, then abnormal bowel sounds tend to or return to normal.
