Soldier system is designed to take soldiers as the center. From the perspective of man-machine-environment,the system is planned and integrated with weapons,protection,carrying,communication,computing,life-support equipment,so as to enhance the soldiers'multiplied combat effectiveness.Ergonomics research of soldier system is an important approach to improve its security, comfort and efficiency. In this paper, the ergonomics of soldier system is studied from the dimension of vision and accessibility by means of simulation and experiments. The surface electromyography(sEMG),3D motion capture and plantar pressure technique are used to study the accessibility of different areas on the surface of carrying-armor and the influence of different operation modes on the accessibility. The results show that the sEMG and kinematic parameters can be used as indicators of the quantitative evaluation of accessibility. The accessibility level shows a strong positive correlation with the distance of the hand movement path.Quantitate results also prove that changes in operation modes are likely to have a great impact on accessibility. The eye-tracking experiment is conducted to test the aiming process of the guns, and the eye movement data is to evaluate the influence of aperture diameter and alignment length on gun-aiming efficiency. The results show that the aiming speed and stability of the soldier can be improved by increasing the aperture diameter and alignment length of the rifle, and it is advisable to use the eye movement data as the parameter to evaluate the efficiency of gun aiming.Simulation with JACK is used to analyze the visibility of the soldier in different states. The results show the best view cones in standing or kneeling position, with or without guns.It also provides an effective reference for the layout design of soldier system equipment.
