Geranium has a long history in China,which can be used to treat diseases like aching muscles and rheumatic arthralgia.If effective ingredients of the geranium can be prepared into microcapsules with sustained release effect and finished to the fabric,people will achieve the preventive effect in aching muscles and rheumatic arthralgia during wearing the fabric.Based on the previous research of the research group,this paper finely adjusts the preparation process of the microcapsule with geranium extract as the core and supplements the parameters which are not studied in detail in the early stage.In addition,the preparation technology and performance of microcapsule composite fabric are studied.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:Geranium-PVA microcapsules were prepared by interfacial polymerization using polyvinyl alcohol as shell material,geranium extract as core,and glutaraldehyde as the crosslinking agent.The properties of microcapsules were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,ultraviolet spectrophotometer,infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetry.Optimization process conditions:core/shell rate 1:1,glutaraldehyde 2 mL,reaction time 1 h.The microcapsules prepared under these conditions have a spherical shape,a smooth surface,an average particle size of 17.11?m and a narrow particle size distribution.The microcapsules prepared after expanding the formulation three times,six times and ten times are still smooth with an average particle sizes of 20 ?m,17.92 ?m and 20.01 ?m,which are similar to those of the prepared microcapsules under optimized conditions,so the process is stable.The prepared microcapsules have good mechanical properties and high yield,which can reach about 88.9%.In addition,Geranium-PVA microcapsules can be sustained release of more than 48 h and its thermal stability increase by 39%.Geranium-PVA microcapsules were finished to cotton knitted fabric through the coating and padding two processes.In the coating finishing process,the appropriate process parameters:pre-drying temperature 50 ?,curing temperature 120 ?,coating thickness 2 mold thickness,microcapsules dosage 2%.The overall feel of the composite fabric is similar to unfinished fabric,the wrinkle recovery and drape is better.In the padding finishing process,the appropriate process parameters:pre-drying temperature 50 ?,curing temperature 120 ?.The bursting performance and wrinkle recovery become better after finishing.There are microcapsules in the fabric surface and fiber voids after finishing,and most of the microcapsules in good shape.The overall feel of the finished fabric was tested using the PhabrOmeter fabric evaluation system.Compared with the unfinished fabric,the overall feel is declining.The properties of coating finishing fabric are slightly inferior to those of the padded finishing fabric,both fabrics can meet the comfort requirements of the lining fabric.The adhesion of coating finishing fabric is much more than that of the padding fabric,and the washing durability of the coating fabric is better than that of the padding fabric.Coating finishing fabric has better practicability.The drug can be released after finishing,with some preventive health effects,the release amount of coating finishing fabric more than that of padding finishing fabric in the same time and conditions.
