Vietnam's Countermeasures To Deal With Environmental Pollution Of Foreign-invested Enterprises

Since 1986, Vietnam began to implement reform and opening. Due to rich natural resources and cheap labor, foreign-invested enterprises gradually entered into the Vietnamese market. In 2008, the world financial crisis erupted. In order to reduce production costs, foreign-invested enterprises continuously transferred to invest and build factories in Southeast Asia. Rely on its advantages, Vietnam became the first choice. Although Vietnam's economy has been developed, the rapid economic development has also brought a series of negative effects. The environment problem is one of them.In this paper, we use environmental pollution analysis of foreign-invested enterprises as the theoretical basis. Combined theoretical analysis with empirical analysis, we study the effect on environmental pollution of foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam.In this paper, we analyze the current situation of Vietnamese environment pollution due to foreign-invested enterprises. Then we find that the increasing of the number and scale in foreign-invested enterprises, resulting in the uneven distribution in the industrial structure and industry, which lead to the different levels of pollution. As a result, it will bring a great impact on the ecological environment quality in Vietnam.In this paper, by a combination of qualitative and quantitative research, we use qualitative analysis to study the environmental pollution problem resulting from foreign invested enterprises. Then combine some empirical case studies, in order to put forward some relevant policy suggestions to attract foreign investment enterprises to invest in Vietnam. Finally we concluded that Vietnam should pay more attention to environmental protection in the course of economic development in the future. In the process of attracting foreign investment, Vietnam should pay attention to the quality of the investment and encourage clean, technology-oriented enterprises to invest in Vietnam. It aims to contribute to upgrading of industrial structure, promote the development of services and other tertiary industries. Ultimately realize the coordinated and sustainable development of economy and environment in Vietnamese.
