| The research object of this paper is the Nanjing University of art and design courses in basic teaching materials. Material foundation course is Nanjing University of art and design University of national fine course- one of the five classes of design basis, the teaching content is through teaching and practice, to know the status of materials in the history of civilization and design, from multiple angles, such as science and technology, design innovation, function and structure, artistic form, funny games understand aspects such as material, and compare their performance in the concept connotation and the different style. With practice, let students understand the material in the design of the value and role in the design method. Through diversified subject training, on the material of the learning experience in a performance characteristics and expression way, understanding the concept of the material and the scope, materials involved in the form and the relationship between the different material properties, the material texture formed by different psychological feelings and visual experience, learn to material experiment of the game.
