Lean Production(LP) came from the Toyota Production System(TPS) of Japan Toyota Corporation, is recognized as the most advanced production system today,whose target is to achieve zero defects, zero inventories and to meet customer needs maximally by eliminating all Muda from all production operation activities,continuously reduce manufacturing cost.The research object is V company D workshop. Base on analyzing the status quo of production operation, this paper is to study and design a lean production improvement scheme of V company D workshop by analyzing the status quo of production operation management and applying lean thinking theory and lean production tools,which can help D workshop implement lean production fast and effectively to solve the challenges D workshop facing and to improve the competitiveness in auto parts industry.Firstly, this paper introduces the background and significance of research, research methods and logic structure of the thesis. The second part is lean production theory review, expounding the theory basics of lean production preliminary by comparing the study and application of lean production at home and abroad. The third part describes the status quo of lean production with introducing the profile of V company D workshop, the status of production system and challenges. The fourth part is to analyze status quo of lean production, mainly analyzing the issues of organization structure, employee training, production system foundation, JIT and auto quality. The fifth part is to design the scheme of lean production improvement according to the issues at V company D workshop. The sixth part is the suggestions of implementing improvement. The last part is conclusion of the paper and perspective of future study.The paper proposes the key factors of implementing lean production successfully is to define reliable strategy of implementing lean production by applying lean thinking and methods to analyze issues of company in detail. Meanwhile, I hope the conclusion of this paper can assist to accumulate experience of implementing lean production and to improve the manufacturing efficiency and quality management level of auto parts manufacturers in China, to contribute on enterprise achieving competitiveness advantage in the globalized competition.
