This thesis focuses on a famous copier manufacture K Company, to provide reasonable and feasible improvement suggestions for its low speed copier line-up development.First, after stating the importance of new product development (NPD), the basic theory of NPD and its process was quoted. Especially, I would like to introduce a scientific tool named as "Gate System", which was already applied to the NPD process of many home and broad excellent large enterprises. I will explain how this methodology can help enterprise improve their efficiency and success rate in NPD process. Meanwhile, the meaning and importance of customer need orientated NPD process was also introduced. Integrating both "Gate System" and "customer need orientated NPD process", I would like to propose the concept of Gate system NPD process based on the customer needs.After the overview of theory, the actual case K Company's situation was analyzed. Moreover, we analyzed its current low speed line-up in monochrome machine and color machine, also in order to identify its problems in NPD process. Then combining with related theories, I made the NPD proposals for both K Company's monochrome and its color low end NPD process. Accordingly, the feasibility analysis and result analysis were conducted to justify the proposal. Finally, some discussions and suggestions on this NPD process were also presented in order to increase the success rate of this proposal project.
