The Application Study On The Network Planning Techniques Used In Schedule Management Of Gearbox Export Project

As global economy enters into new normal, export companies in our country are facing tough international competition and huge pressure of survival. To promote the new product development project scientifically and efficiently becomes an urgent need for the companies.Due to its flexibility to market changes, project management has become more and more emphasized in business. The network planning techniques are crticial to project schedule management. This article shall discuss how to apply the network planning techniques on export project, in order to effectively manage its project schedule. This is very meaningful for our export companies to enhance the on-time delivery rate of their new product project, not only to avoid fines due to delay, but also use the ability to rapidly develop new products to make the companies more competitive globaly.This article introduced the theory and tools of network planning techniques in detail through case study, by different stages of project schedule management, explained how the network planning techniques could be applied in project schedule management. This article selected a real gearbox export project UD40 of the QS company for case study, to illusrtae the complete process of applying the network planning techniques in the project schedule management under the real circumstances of the company, the application of tools such as WBS, AON network chart and gantt chart, as well as the results achieved. The article discusses in detail on how to use AON network chart to determine and optimize the critical path, how to use regular meeting and gantt chart to feedback project progress information thus to cyclicly update AON network chart to enhance the project schedule manangement, some useful project forms and tools are also attached at the same time.The case study shows:network planning techniques are foundamental to project schedule management, and can not only make the project schedule optimal but also manage the project schedule comprehensively by updating the network plan. Network planning techniques can also be used for the schedule management of manufacturing companies' export projects by quick training and thus achieve positive effects.
