Strategy is used to develop the core competence of company that composed by a series of comprehensive, coordinated engagement and action for the company to get competitive advantage. Strategic management is the art and science of making, implementing and evaluating cross functional decisions that are organized to achieve their goals.Today's society is competitive and keeping updated, and also obey the law of jungle. To keep survival in this environment for a company, and keep develop rely on not only strong financial supporting and advanced management system but also reasonable product structure and appropriate product development strategy.In this paper, with the increasingly fierce competition in the Chinese auto market as the background, the research object is FAW-Volkswagen Company with detailed analysis and research on its development strategy of passenger car.The first chapter of this paper mainly expounds the background and significance of the selected topic from the nowadays situation and the development of Chinese automobile market and FAW-Volkswagen and also expounds the research methods and contents of the whole paper and theoretical basis and literature review with the theoretical knowledge of strategic operation and management during the period of MBA. Chapter 2 is about the mainly problem of VW brand passenger car products, that from the analysis and summarizes of the current situation of FAW-Volkswagen Company and China's automobile market. The aim is to make more effective development strategy of passenger cars by clarifying the problems and their causes. With the SWOT analysis in Chapter 3, leads to a conclusion that the company can overcome the threat with more opportunity. Chapter 4 gives appropriate strategy for VW brand passenger cars by using IFE EFE Space and QSPM analysis tool. In order to implement the company's product strategy effectively, the paper also puts forward the safeguard measures from personnel, organization system and process, to ensure the effective operation of the product strategy.I hope that this study can provide some effective strategic advice and suggestions for the future development, to support the implementation of company's sustainable development and overall strategy.
